| In this article comprehensive and concrete analysis over the production process, interior and exterior environment of SMP Power Plant has been made for the purpose of finding out the elements restricting the power plant's development. The idea of solving problems by using the modern Production and Operation Management theory and method is put forward—trying to provide a suitable way for the power plant to quickly meet the changing exterior environment under the situation of "Split power plants from the power networks, and introduce price competition for power generating".SMP Power Plant is one of the major power plants in the northwestern electrical network of Hubei. But under the contemporary frame of reform in the electricity system of China, some problems are also exposed in terms of plant maintenance, operation management and quality of overhaul and repair.Production and Operation Management is in fact a series of policy making and acts which serve for the enterprises to realize their organization goals to provide the society with competitive products and services. It's basic functions are to plan, organize and control the running process of a enterprise. The Production and Operation Management is a process management for the input and output of a enterprise. With this the enterprise can meet the requests of it's own development while produce commodities and services for the society.The author of this article discussed and stated the importance of applying Production and Operation Management theory in power plants in the aspects of the management of reliability. Operation, maintenance/repair, energy saving and environment protection. It is pointed out and strengthened that the theory and method must be combined with the special advantages at equipment and human resources of the specific power plant, so as to raise the management level and economic operation, cut down the energy consumption and cost, and further to achieve sustainable development. |
