Since the adoption of the reform and opening-up policy in our country, the high investment of the material capital has impelled our economy to increase fleetly. Although in our country the system innovation and the economic restructuring have promoted the high growth of to a certain extent, but compared with the developed countries, the technology progress and the human capital contributed little to our economic growth. The advanced experience of the developed countries indicated that education could have positive influence on the economic growth through improving the human capital and accelerating the technology progress, and now the modern economy depends more and more on these two factors. However, after observing the input in education in recent years, we found that the proportion of the education expenditure to GDP in our country has a big gap with the international level. The low input in education in our country restricted the human resource development and the technology progress seriously. Due to our country is short of capital, work and resources but relatively abundant in human resources, so increasing the input in education can accelerate the speed of the human resource development, improve the stock of the human capital, promote the technology progress and realize the high economic growth ultimately. This thesis analyzed the education's role in the economic growth and concluded that education contributed insufficiently to the high economic growth in our country. According to the summary of the developed country's experience and the discussion on the factor of the future economic growth in our country, the author thinks that increasing the education input is the key point to realize our country's high economic growth. The logic system of this text is: Input in education -the stock of the human capital increases - -technology progress -economic growth.
