| With the development of China's market economics and China's having entered into the World Trade Organization (WTO), the world economy has tended to be integrated globally. The China's polyester industry is facing more and more intensive competition from both foreign and domestic competitors. In order to get competitive advantages in this market, setting up and implementing the development strategy of China polyester industry is a very important issue for the economy stabilization and substantial development in China.This thesis chooses the polyester industry of China as its research subject and starts from the investigation of the existing problems in development and competition of the polyester industry both in domestic and abroad. It analyzes the current situation of China's polyester industry and the supply/demand situation of the whole polyester industry by applying the Modern Industry Theory, Michael E.Porter's "Five Facts method", and Products Cycle Theory, etc, and tries to find an appropriate development strategy for China's polyester industry. Finally, it suggests that the government should strengthen on the macro-control and coordination of the polyester industry development and try to create a good development environment, and take active measures to encourage the large-sized enterprises' vertical integration; on the other hand, the enterprises should strengthen on the internal management and research & development to improve their core competition ability. |
