Compensation Management is one section of modern enterprise management. In a sense, it is the most important part. But for a long time in the past, the human resource management in many Chinese enterprises remains unchanged still running along the road of traditional practice, among which the outdated salary management is becoming more and more an obstacle for further development. As an state-owned enterprise after the transition to stockholding system, the Nanjing Valvate plant is still suffering from difficulties in low efficiency, iron-bowl employment system, poor quality control in both products and service, lack of initiative spirit and working enthusiasm in employees. Facing up to the management now is one of the key subject: how to reform the salary system, boost up morale and inspire innovation among employees.Firstly this thesis outlined the stimulation theory relating to the compensation Management, then, took a thorough analysis on the status quo of compensation Management in Nanjing Valvate plant; after then, found out the problems in compensation Management and reasons laying behind. Basing on these findings, the author redesigned the salary system; Moreover, this thesis made some emphasis on the implementation preparation of the new salary system, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages, putting up with some new suggestions for further improvement of the salary system in Nanjing Valvate plant.
