Chinese And Western Eco-tourism Value Orientation, A Comparative Study

The study on ecotourism in China started only about 10 years ago, and the practice in ecotourism had less times than that. For different countries and regions, it is a problem deserve of discussion to how to use the western ideas of ecotourism on themselves. As the root of the ideas of ecotourism, environment ideas is very important. This thesis tries to explain some ideological problem of ecotourism, in order to find a way for the exploration of ecotourism in China. The thesis is divided into six parts:(1) It introduces some results of study on the problem, and gives the reason why I choose this subject and the chart of logical skeleton of this article.(2) It explains the concept of environment ideas and ecotourism, and analyses the relation between them. It also tells the rule of ecotourism and the institute of its quality control.(3) It discusses the history of western environment ideas. For a long period, human and nature are two independent systems in the world. But in China, nature and human are the two ingredients of a whole system. They are too close to separate from each other. It also compares these two ideas on their history, the different relation between human and nature, the root of civilization, their historical and cultural background, and their religious spirit.(4) On four aspects including the course of the birth and growth of ecotourism, the basic resource of ecotourism, the sustainable development ideas in ecotourism, and the consumer market of ecotourism, it compares the ideas of China and western countries on ecotourism exploration.(5) It analyses tourists' environment ideas in China and the West through questionnaire.(6) It sums up two foreign models of ecotourism exploration: American national park model and Kenya model, and direct a way of Chinese ecotourism exploration. This article first proposes the concept of popular ecotourism.
