On The Contemporary Chinese Social Stratification

With the development of the reform and opening, also with the improvement of the socialism, we get the notable improvement of the whole economic power of our country and people' s lives. There emerges the research about the social stratification because the existing of the social difference which is result from the unequal occupying the limited resources, also because our country is in the condition of the social transition period.The thesis first expresses the meaning of the social stratification, that is dividing the social member into different line by certain standard. The essence of the social stratification is the different possession of the valuable social resources which is rare relatively, along with the different opportunity to obtain the resources. All these reflect the unequal distribution of the social resources among the social members, which will greatly affect the social run.Because the existing of social stratification will cause the emergence of the benefits community, which will result in the social contradiction. Therefore, the paper concerns the problem of social contradiction following. The thesis firstly lists the development of the theory of social stratification and the study about the social stratification theory. Basing on the expression of the social stratification, the paper also points out that when we study the phenomenon of social stratification we will insist on the leading position of Marxism. Also we will use the scientific method of dialectical materialism and historical materialism. At the same time, we must grasp the premise that our country is still in the period of the early stage of socialism and the social transition. The character of the early stage of socialism indicates that existing difference not only between nowadays and any historical period, but also socialism of developed period. Then the thesis makes a list of characters on the social contradiction presently. Not only the contradiction about the economic benefit, but about social difference, the only aim is to resolve the problem. So the paper focus on how to resolve the problem and construct thesocialism harmonious society.Certainly, the purpose of study the social stratification lies in not only solving the social contradiction, but also harmonizing the allocating of the social resources, and making the policies which are benefit to most of the social members. But to a society, its development and stability are both decided by the situation of middle stratum which consists of most of the social members. So in the finally part of the paper, it focuses on the theme of middle stratum. We can't underrate the function of the middle stratum. It can create and lead the value concept and social norm of the modernization society; Also it can relax the social benefits contradiction; They are the main group who can guide consumption; They attend political activities positively, which pushes the development of the political democratization. At last, the thesis talk about the condition of middle stratum, then the composing of it, also its social function. Finally the paper discusses how to extend the middle stratum and how to construct the socialism harmonious society. Extending the scale of middle stratum in order to make the base for the construction of the socialism harmonious society.
