The article examines the complicated interplay of the strategy of India for great power and its influence on China. The paper firstly explores the historical reasons of its great power strategy and how it develops nowadays in the global context dating back to its sources. Then, the content of the great power strategy is analyzed which involves the control of the South Asia Area, the preclude of the super-nation in this area, the hegemony in Indian Ocean, the development of the Nuclear Weapon, the active diplomatic relationships with other nations, the pursue of the permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. The paper secondly proposes closely the advantages and disadvantages of India's great power strategy. For advantages, it is proved to include good natural conditions, more and more flourishing economy, great strength in technology and military forces, as well as its western-oriented value and characteristics. At the same time, we also discuss the unavoidable disadvantages hindering its great power strategy, which as we suppose may embrace great burden in population, severe conflicts in different religions, and complicated social problems in South Asian. We also focus our attention on the prospects of its great power strategy, that is, although it will be a bumpy road for India to achieve its goal, it is an overwhelming tide for India to be a super-nation. Finally, the paper proposes some constructive measures towards its great power strategy as followings: to think the common ground and reserve the differences, to stimulate the economic co-operations between China and India, to play more active roles in global issues, to build up a fantastic peace-like super-nation image by eliminating the Threatening of China doctrine around the world.
