This paper discusses the problems in the sea-route of Malacca straitusing the framework of "common security". Firstly, the author givesdefinition and connotation to the "common security". Then, it analyzesthe current situation and problems in the management of the strait. Finally,the author makes a tentative plan in order to improve the security in thestrait. The paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the foreword.This part describes the framework and methodology of the paper. Thesecurity cooperation under the idea of "common security" is the secondpart. It is the theoretical foundation of the paper. It gives definition andconnotation to the "common security". The third part focuses on thestrategic position of the strait in the East Asia. In this part, the authorilluminates the importance of the strait through statistics. In the fourthpart, the paper discusses the current situation and problems in themanagement of the strait. In this part, the author also makes a tentativeplan to manage the strait in the framework of "common security".
