A Research On The Regional Security Of East Asia After The Cold War

East Asia means the east of Asia, including Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia. It is important geopolitics value and abundant strategic resource. After the cold war, under the background of globalization, the economic cooperation of east Asia makes good progress. But the cooperation in security affairs of east Asia obviously lags behind.The security dilemma is the most prominent characteristic of the safe environment in East Asia after the cold war. Due to the uneven power structure, unripe security regimes of East Asia and hostile social structure in the macro leve, and contention of intra-regional national geo- interests and competition of different security views in the micro level, the security dilemma of east Asia takes shape. How to dissolve the security dilemma of east Asia, and thus to pursue the common security and cooperative security is not only the important issues of various countries in this area, but also the key factor to the peace and stability of Asian-Pacific area and even the whole world too. East Asia is the most important surrounding area of our country, so by studying the security situation of East Asia conscientiously, it's great importance to safeguard the peace and steadiness of east Asia and to build a safe surrounding environment. It also has important realistic meaning and far-reaching historic significance for us to construct our Socialist harmonious society and to realize socialist modernization goal.My view to the security future of East Asia is not pessimistic. Because East Asia's flourishing development of regionalism, positive change of great power's relations and common safe threat to east Asia are the important foundation for east Asia's security cooperation. By the guidance of the new security view, we should regard common security characters as the goal, set up and perfect regional security regimes. On the basis of fully utilizing existing security regimes of East Asia, we should make great efforts to set up some multilateral regional security arrange, construct East Asia's multilateral security cooperation regimes. The long-range security objective in East Asia is to construct the security community of East Asia on the basis of improving it's security institutions.
