Analysis Of Russia Belarus Integration

This paper aims to study the evolution process, causes, major achievements andinfluence of the Russia-Belarus integration, as well as problems existing at the presenttime and the prospect of Russia-Belarus Union. The study presently on this case inChina is relative weak.The Russia-Belarus integration is the most active and most fruitful integrationprocess in this area in the post-Soviet Union era. There are deep historical and culturalroots, close economic relations and reciprocal strategic need in security betweenRussia and Belarus, so to some extent, it is inevitable that the two countries are on theroad to integration. In the ten years of development from 1996 to 2006, on one hand,Russia and Belarus obtained considerable achievements in the integrative cooperationin the fields of politics, economy, military and societal civilization. But, on the otherhand, there still exist some problems and contradictions. Some limiting factors havecaused the divarication between them and the undulation in the integration process.But because the alliance of Russia and Belarus is the strategic choice made by peoplesof the two countries, which is in accordance with their national interests, therefore,there is much room for it to develop.
