| The KMT(Kuo Min Tang) with a history more than one hundred years,which had controlled the political power in Taiwan for fifty years, lost the"presidential"election in 2000. The KMT's surrender of political power is a milestone of the political development of Taiwan. For the KMT, this defeat signified a heavy strike on it. The KMT decided to reform in the party after a painful self-reflection. In the 21 century many parties face the same problem of reforming and strengthening self-construction. So does KMT who is out of office.This dissertation investigates the reform of KMT in the 21 century mainly from two perspectives. One is party construction, such as the reform of election system and decision-making system; the another is the latest reform experience from 2000 up to now, which has profound realistic meaning.The dissertation includes three parts:The first part expatiates the history background and the reasons for the launch of the KMT's reform. The history background mainly includes the influence of the transformation of political system, political parties in east Asia, the transformation of political system in Tai Wan and KMT itself. The direct reasons mainly include that KMT lost power and administrative resources because of"presidential"election failure, the interanl separation and the challenge from the DPP(democracy progress party).The second part dissertates some important problems of reform in KMT mainly including the reform of election system and decision-making system and so on.This is the key part of the dissertation .The third part ,we draw some enlightenments based on the datum. First ,the party have to reform in order to adapt to the change of time, otherwise, it will be deserted by the mainstream of society. Second ,the reform of the party has to conform with the wish of the people and demand of democracy .Third, the party must find the own development model according to the society system and traditional culture which it belongs to. |
