China's rising attracts more and more people's sights, and makes them pay close attention to China's development and international behavior during and after its rising, all of which lead to the existence of various opinions. This paper introduces role analysis used in Foreign Policy Analysis in order to understand from the perspective of"National Role Conception"the continuity and alteration in China's foreign policy and behavior after Cold War, and therefore to provide a new theoretical perspective besides those such as national interests and power.The first part of this paper mainly introduces the contents of role analysis in Foreign Policy Analysis which have close relationship with this paper's research, and then on base of the introduction above displays the formation process of this paper's logic structure and arrangement. The second part uses the means of Content Analysis to find out China's"National Role Conceptions"after Cold War. The third part explains why China's"National Role Conceptions"remain stable, which is helpful in understanding the continuity of China's foreign policy after Cold War. Habit and adaptation are two characteristics of the behavior of the bearer of"National Role Conception", which opens a window for us to understand the alteration and again continuity in China's Foreign Policy, which is the main content of the fourth part. The fifth part includes the problems that this paper does not resolve which gives the direction of further research.
