East Asia cooperation started from ASEAN and then expanded to cover the whole East Asia area. At present, a basic cooperation framework has been formulated, with"East Asia Community"as the long-term objective of the cooperation. This thesis studies the influence of political culture factors upon East Asian cooperation. With a long history of civilization development, the East Asia Culture Circle has formulated some political culture traditions accepted by East Asian countries, which exerts significant influence upon the choice of cooperation mode among East Asian countries. In terms of political psychology, political concepts and regime modes, East Asian countries present diversified and complicated features, which also have dramatic influence upon the cooperation attitudes of East Asian countries. The thesis also discusses the influence of the ongoing political transition in East Asian Countries upon East Asia cooperation. The thesis points out that East Asian countries shall fully exercise the positive role of East Asian political culture to enhance mutual understanding of and respect to each other's political culture through the promotion of all-rounded exchanges between countries. This will help countries overcome misunderstanding and distrust caused by the differences of political culture, explore the common ground of East Asian countries in terms of political culture and cultivate East Asian identity consciously on that basis. Meanwhile, East Asian countries shall make active efforts to construct a participating system culture, and try to eliminate barriers for and create impetus to the further development of East Asian cooperation through the active construction of political culture.
