All countries have shared the common opinion that they should pursue peace and development together after the end of the cold war. Former Soviet Union and the United States used to be the superpower during the Cold War, while several powers are emerging and cooperating on global and regional affairs at present. It is hard to forecast that which country will be the next global power.China is rising in the east of Eurasia, so does EU in the west of the Eurasia. Both sides value the relationship with each other, cooperating on political and economic affairs. Since the establishment of the PRC, the relationship between China and EU can be divided into several periods. In the thesis, the writer takes the EU's integration as a clue. Although both China and EU used to have some difficulties in dealing with each other, both sides choose to cooperate with each other to maximize their interest under the effect of some elements.As a rapidly developing country, China needs to deal with the old powers in a proper way. It has become a diplomatic task for China that how to establish a kind of relationship with old strong powers that helps to the rise of China.The thesis aims to summarize some universal elements that help to enhance the cooperation between China and EU by analyzing the cooperating history of half a century.
