The case method has been existed since ancient times,the earliest can be traced back to ancient Greece, ancient Rome time.In the 1870s,Landell(Christopher C.Landell) began to vigorously promote the use of case method at Harvard Law School,and then followed by the wide application in commercial,corporate management and other study industry.Gradually,the method become worldwide,and considered as a successful teaching mode that represent the future direction of education.At present,the case method has spread to many countries with it's improvement,and has a tremendous impact in the world.Now in our country,case method has also been accepted by an increasing number of people including many universities. The case method is a commonly used teaching method,and it has also been used in the course teaching as its own special trait.Similarly,the Party School teaching can also apply the case method,and exert the unique advantages of case method in consideration with the characteristic of Party School teaching.The content and the mission of Party School teaching suggest that we should focus our attention on the vital practical problems.The object of party school teaching determines the specificity of the ways and means of teaching.The case method better reflects the characteristic of Party School teaching and learning in the new era,and is in line with the law of learners' study.It's a suitable form that combines quality education with capacity-building,and is regarded as the main pattern in Party School teaching.Under the current situation, the introduction and promotion of the case method have an important theoretical and practical meaning in improving the quality of teaching,and also in completing the mission of Party School training.In this article,we will hold the study of the case method based on the characteristics of Party School teaching.We hope to present reference and recommendations on how to make the case method effective in Party School teaching,and also enrich the teaching methods,improve the fruit of Party School teaching.Firstly,we explain the concept,characteristics and theoretical basis of case method after studying the status of related fields both at home and abroad.We show why we introduce the case method into Party School teaching,discuss the specific and process of Party School teaching,and also propose the required attention.All of this are based on the trait of the Party School teaching and its own learners.Secondly,we design a class applying the case method.Selecting a certain class in Rizhao Municipal Party School as an example,we carried out the case study in practice.The basic framework of the experiment is:case explaining,individual analysis,group discussion,class exchange,summary.Finally,we gain the result of the practical teaching through various channels,including the questionnaire,interviewing the students and teachers,and the comprehensive analysis of the students' homework.In the passage,we explore the feature and the skills in case teaching,enriching the methods of Party School teaching.We also make lessons and suggestions that how to make the full role of the case method in Party School teaching.It will have an important theoretical and practical significance in qualified the teacher and improve the teaching in Party School teaching.Study shows that:the case method has gained a high degree of recognition from the teachers and students in Party School;it can fully mobilize the enthusiasm of students,creating a lively atmosphere in class;it can improve the overall quality of students,particularly their capacity of solving the practical problems and development of creative thinking.The application of case method in Party School teaching will solve the defects brought about by the traditional teaching methods and improve the teaching quality.It's suitable for Party School teaching indeed.
