Russian Relations With Georgia Comment

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, relations between Russia and Georgia have been of concern for the people of the world. When Yeltsin was in power, as a result of changes in the diplomatic strategy, the Russian-Georgian relations experienced many ups and downs. When Putin was in power, Russia's strategy changed and US-led Western countries intervened, as a result, constant disputes between Russia and Georgia appeared. In 2008, Medvedev took office, "a five-day war" between Russia and Georgia led to the deterioration of relations between Russia and Georgia. The reasons are quite complex. The factors are both from Russia and Georgia and from external countries.In recent years, with the European Union and NATO's eastward expansion, the United States actively involved in Russia's traditional sphere of influence, Georgia has become an example for the United States to implement "democracy". And the characteristics of the bilateral relations are summarized. After analyzing the fundamental factors of the relationship between Russia and Georgia, the paper explained the crux of the relationship between Russia and Georgia and finally analyzed and reflected on the trend of Russian-Georgian relations.This article holds that, since it is very difficult to resolve the fundamental contradiction between Russia and Georgia, so in the short term, relations between the two countries can not be repaired, and it will continue to be complex and changeable. At the same time, it will be difficult for Georgia to use and benefit from the conflict between the United States and Russia and the deterioration of relations between Russia and Georgia have a far-reaching consequences to all the parties.
