| The study and concern of the youth volunteer issue have been one important part of the establishment of the society harmony in recent years, especially after the Beijing Olympic Game. The whole country's concern about this job has reached a new high level.The Chinese Youth Volunteer Movement was firstly put into action as"the cross-century youth civilization project"of China Youth League. Later, it became one important part of the resolutions proposed by the Sixth Plenary Session of the fourteenth Central Committee of CPC Sixth Plenary Session of the 16th CPC. Since launched by over 20000 youth league members along the"Jing-Guang"railway line on December 19th 1993, it has developed and furthered from zero to a comprehensive system with excellent social involvement and interaction. During the development, it went through five phases of the activities initiation, often activities holding, system establishment, activities development and key projects development.So far, there are over 25000 Youth Volunteer service points around the country, 3 million pairs of persons bonded by the long-term"one-to one"service, and 120 million person-times who offered the society over 8 billion hours'volunteer service.The volunteer service in Yiwu has achieved extraordinary accomplishments over decades of development, during which college students, the main power of volunteer groups, offered substantial services in areas such as poverty reduction, education, environmental protection, medicine & sanitation, elder-helping, handicapped-helping, security maintenance, legal assistance and large-scale campaigns, etc. These young volunteers not only display to the whole world the elegant demeanor of Chinese college students, but also play a positive role in making up for our country's social security, maintaining the social stability and safety, and providing services for the economic construction and social morality establishment. Thus their practices mean a lot to building a harmonious socialist society and promoting human progress. However, youth volunteer activities in Yiwu are confronted with numerous difficulties. For example, youth volunteer activities are not well recognized by the society, the relevant laws and regulations are yet to be established, the organization is not well built, the training and management are inefficient, and the fund raising is difficult. All of these have been large barriers for the development of Yiwu youth volunteer service.In order to bring the youth volunteer activities out of the current difficulties, we must make efforts to build up a good environment for the development of Yiwu youth volunteer service, the society should pay more attention and give more support. The relevant government departments should improve the management system of the youth volunteer activities and the volunteers should value the importance of the self-development and self-improvement so as to improve the service level and achieve the long-term development of the youth volunteer project.As one of the long-term social civilization projects, the Youth Volunteer Project is not so incomplete in many aspects. From the current study materials, there are lots of studies about the Youth Volunteer system, the theory study is improving, but there are few concerns of the existing issues and problems. The study of the perfection of the youth volunteer service system is the important assistance to the long term development of the youth volunteer work..In Yiwu, the city based on the market, the study of the Youth Volunteer work just starts, and there is no complete study or theory. This paper makes efforts to offer new insights of this issue based on the practical work experience and investigation and exploration, to further the development of Yiwu Youth Volunteer work. |
