This thesis consists of five parts. The introduction gives a description of the significance of this thesis, a literature review, the main materials as well as a brief biography of Lord Denning. Chapter One gives a summary of Lord Denning's legal thoughts, which is divided into two sections. Section one is the introduction of Denning's social background and ideological background; section two explains six translated versions of his works on our mainland and his three legal philosophies, which are exactly called Justice, Freedom under the Law and Put your trust in God. Chapter two describes Lord Denning's legal practice and probes into his contribution to the legal reformation by the analysis of three cases. Chapter three displays the interpretations and comments made by scholars both at home and abroad on his legal thoughts and practices and at the same time the great influences of those legal thoughts and practices on such countries as Britain and that under the system of common law and even worldwide. The last chapter is a description of the directing significance of Denning's legal thoughts and practices on the legal system construction of our country....
