The New Generation Of Migrant Workers In Need Of Psychological And Educational Guidance

There have been two generations of migrant workers from the rural areas to the cities in China since the reform and opening up in the past three decades. Most of the older generation of migrant workers have returned to their homeland, while the new generation of migrant workers are active in the city. The differences between them are reflected not only in time and age, but also in the social experience, education, life expectancy, behavior, and even deeper levels, such as thought, values and so on.Compared to the older generation, the new generation of migrant workers have a significant instrument of self-consciousness, ambiguous identity and a strong sense of being deprived through questionnaire surveys and interviews with the case. They are aspiring to social justice, and they want to enjoy a real "national treatment". However, the society ignored their needs to some extent. At present their condition about the needs is not optimistic and there are some psychological problems. For example, the function of need can not play fully, and the level of need can not promote effectively. In addition, the type of need can not acknowledge correctly.There are three aspects about the causes of their psychological problems about need. The First, macroeconomic policies hinder the function of need, which tend to city people. The specific performances are the following. On the one hand, the household registration system is not suitable. On the other hand, the labor legislation is not complete, and the social security is inadequate. The second, the fuzzy position of the education influences the efficacy of ideological and political education. The education of government incline to one side, and the trade union has focused on other things. Besides, the community lacks of education. The last, individual differences in cognitive level lead to their misunderstanding about need. The new generation of migrant workers do not recognize the place about the function, level and type of the need.Under the guidance of Marx's need theory, we can reference the rational elements of Maslow's hierarchy of needs and other motivition theories. We should carry out ideological and political education from the need of new generation of migrant workers. The first, adjust macroeconomic policies to enhance the function of need of the new generation of migrant workers. Remove the barriers of the system gradually, and improve labor legislation speeding up. Besides, implement social security step by step. The second, Put up the convergence of the power of education to play the effectiveness of ideological and political education. Set up the direction of education by government, and build terrace of education by the trade union.Besides, construct the network of education by community. The last, guide the psychology of need to optimize their cognition about need. According to the function of need, we can guide them to play the efficacy of need, and according to the level of need we can guide them to satisfy their superior needs.At the same time, according to the type of need, we can guide them to correct their attitude about need.This thesis chooses the need of new generation of migrant workers as the breakthrough point, so there is some innovation on perspective in the research. However, because the level of personal awareness and research capacity is limited, the study of the problem is not deep enough, to be further strengthened.
