Rural Women's Political Participation In Village Committee Elections

In the modern civilization society, the rural women as participants in the village activities, is the human wisdom, ability and the potential important constitution factor, and simultaneously is the main contributor to the social development, the humanity progress. In China, the feminine citizen account for about half of the total population, while rural women also accounted for the majority of female citizens, they are playing the noticeable vital role in the countryside development. The rural women politics participation is one of pioneering works which the Chinese woman participates in government. Not only their political participation has the significant influence to the socialist democracy politics construction, also is the impetus entire society sustainable development indispensable important content. Shaanxi Province belongs to west agricultural big province of our country. Although there are many the rural women who participate in the village commission elects, but there are few who campaign for village commission elects. Since rural areas have implemented the villagers autonomously, the Shaanxi Province rural women's political participation has undergone great changes. However, due to socio-cultural, economic, institutional factors such as side constraints, towards the current women's political participation in rural areas in Shaanxi Province, there are still many problems to be solved. The author takes four natural villages of Xi'an as a sample. The author carries on the investigation from three present situations the sense of participation, the political participation behavior and the political participation ability of the rural women politics, by meaning of inspection, the questionnaire survey and the individual interview. The author unveils the actual state of women's participation in village committee's election in rural areas in Shaanxi Province by analysis of the disadvantage of rural women to participate in village elections in Shaanxi province. From a realistic point of view, the author has proposed to promote women's political participation in rural areas in Shaanxi Province and effective measures.
