Nowadays, woman, as participant of all activities , is an important force for consisting of wisdom, ability and potential of human beings and a major contributor to human progress and social development, which has become the consensus of civilized society. Women's liberation is an important criteria measuring human progress, and women' participation in politics is a higher form of women's liberation. The depth and breadth of women's political participation has become the key indicator for measuring women's social status. In contemporary China, female citizens take about half of the entire population. Therefore, their participation in politics have a major impact not only to the building of socialist democratic politics, but also becomes the indispensable contents for the sustainable development of the whole society .While rural women also accounts for more than half of female citizens, which is an important force in rural development, Chinese women's political participation in politics in rural area is one of the pioneering work. Since the implementation of the villagers' autonomy, the rural women's political participation changed a lot. However, due to traditional and practical factors, their political participation is not optimistic leaving many issues requiring urgent solution. The author attempts to take Four village, Zhongxindian town, Zhoucheng city, Shandong Province as study case, analyze the status quo of rural women's political participation from the point of view of the village committee elections, through questionnaires and individual interviews, research into traditional and practical reasons and explore the feasible path and corresponding for improving status quo.This paper is divided into five parts: the first part is preface including the origin of this issue, the interpretation of related core concepts, the main research methods, theoretical innovation of the article and the brief introduction of the case villages; The second part analyzes the status quo of women's political participation in rural area from the survey data and interviews materials in; the third part explores the factors affecting rural women's political participation of from the perspective of tradition and reality; the fourth part proposes appropriate countermeasures and recommendations; the fifth part is closing.
