Analysis Of Social Democracy

Social Democracy and Scientific Socialism originate from the same source and developed in totally different directions. The development of Social Democracy experienced from Social Democracy to Democratic Socialism and back to Social Democracy. As a system, a kind of social value and an aim, Social Democracy has succeeded in becoming a most important political power on the European stage. We studied the accomplishment it has achieved, its policies and difficulty and problems it has encountered to understand its nature more clearly, to distance ourselves from it, to firm our determination to build socialism with Chinese characteristics.The paper discussed the development track of concept of Social Democracy and studied its most outstanding characters, on the basis of which it sought the part that we could borrow during our building of socialistic political civilization.The first part started with the development and connotation of Social Democracy. It attempted to find the development track of Social Democracy and analyzed the difference between Social Democracy and Democratic Socialism from the aspect of context then.The second part discussed the three most characters of Social Democracy from two sides, which are political pluralism, mixed economy and welfare state and Keynesism in administration means.The last part discussed why Social Democracy could not be applied to China and explored the reference value of Social Democracy from the aspect of our building socialistic political civilization.The conclusion part summarized the significance of studying Social Democracy.The nature of Social Democracy is a kind of Capital Reformism, which is a method to treat the symptom instead of the fundamental problem. Although Social Democracy has been practiced in several countries in Europe with some achievements, however, it cannot be applied to China in the period of transformation. We have made great success in the construction of Chinese Characterized Socialism. And we will stick to our road in the guidance of the Communist Party of China, to the system of Socialism and to the health development of democracy of Socialism.
