Energy is related to economic development and social progress of human necessities. Especially oil and natural gas is one of humanity's main energy currently used, and the non-renewable energy sources what are fewer and fewer. The article concentrates on the analysis about oil and natural gas fields. Now it becomes the important issue in non-traditional security fields that the world began to concern. China and India pay the most attention to the issue. This is mainly because China and India are the world's largest developing countries whose economies are in a rapid development period. This situation makes the two countries need more energy. The domestic energy supply and demand is what makes the two countries eager to seek foreign sources of energy. The comparability of the two countries has led to competition for energy in foreign countries. China and India come to realize that competition has damaged national interests, and began trying to cooperate in energy field. Although the two countries have had some successful cooperation cases, but is still in the state of shallow cooperation. How to develope the potential of Sino-Indian energy cooperation, and how to choose the path of cooperation to enhance the maturity of cooperation, thereby maintaining the trend of such cooperation and promoting cooperation in sustainable development? The article tries to solve several problems. (1) What extent has Sino-Indian energy cooperation developed so far? (2) What path should China and Indian choose to develope further energy cooperation? And (3) Why choose this path? This article analyzes the status of energy cooperation between India and China, tries to find existing conditions for bilateral cooperation, and then combines with the obstacles and difficulties in Sino-India energy cooperation, so can try to find the route of Sino-Indian energy cooperation.First, the article combed the status quo of Sino-Indian energy cooperation. China and India are beginning to cooperate at the enterprise level. Senior government officials have also begun to contact to create the conditions for energy cooperation between the two countries and provide an infrastructure. The article summarizes from the two aspects to show the level of Sino-Indian energy cooperation development and then analyzes the positive effects of co-operation.Based on this, this article analyzes the basis and background for cooperation path, namely, is there necessity that China and India need to cooperate in energy issues, as well as what is the co-existing conditions, obstacles and difficulties. This paper presents three points about the need for cooperation to prove that energy cooperation between China and India is very important to solve the energy problem for the two countries. It also analyzes seven co-existing conditions for cooperation. Combined analysis of the necessity and conditions of the Sino-Indian energy cooperation obtained not only necessary but possible on Sino-India cooperation. This requires that the Sino-Indian energy cooperation continues to develop to form the long-term cooperation. Then the article analyzes the difficulties and obstacles in the Sino-Indian energy cooperation. This paper argues that although there are cooperation reality and conditions of cooperation, which, however, is not a "go without saying" thing. There are still enormous difficulties and obstacles. It existes obstacles not only between the two countries, but aslo in external surrounding China and India relate to. There are history issues between China and India, and it doesn't reach the stage of political full trust. The cooperation lack mechanism at the initial phase. External factors also can not be ignored, the energy background region-the south Asia is still in the unstable situation, and don't underestimate the U.S. factor in the Sino-Indian cooperation.Based on the above-mentioned three parts of analysis, and by giving full consideration to the reality of the Sino-Indian energy cooperation:the necessity and conditions, the specific difficulties of cooperation, this paper attempts to find the Sino-Indian energy cooperation path in line with two countries' reality, making the Sino-Indian energy cooperation can maintain sustainable development and reducing the losses brought by competition. This paper presents the path of cooperation consists of three levels:establishing the concept of cooperation (establishing the concept of the energy interest community)+establishing cooperation mechanisms (Sino-Indian bilateral cooperation mechanism, the Asian multilateral energy cooperation mechanism)+exploring the ways of cooperation (ensuring energy transport security together, increase efforts to prospect for and explore other countries' energy cooperation, eliminate "Asia Premium" and so on).
