As National League for Democracy which was led by Vajpayee assumed power in India in 1998, India went into a six-year period of time which was characterized by Hindu Nationalism. Though the administration once broke down, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Patry) led by Vajpayee still was in charge of India until 2004. Vajpayee Administration took a great reform and change for Indian politics and diplomacy as well as future political and diplomatic thought of India with its standpoint of Hindu Nationalism, new foreign style and bond strategic actions. When Vajpayee Government dealt with the relation to other countries, especially big countries, it conforms to the rule of"India First"and did all for the interest of India. At the same time, it realized the importance of the power, following the principle of"Power to Power", and tried its best to develop Indian strength in economy and military. Vajpayee Government was deeply influenced by political thought of Indian realist Kautilya, Hindu Nationalism and Nehru's Non-Alignment which made India diplomacy very pragmatic. This paper is trying to study Indian foreign policy of Vajpayee administration and focus on its foreign policy with relations to the big countries. The writer tries to find out the theoretic resource and practice to illustrate the characteristics of Vajpayee Administration.
