Hunan Mass Media Vocational Technical College This paper researches the members of basketball team of Hunan Mass Media Vocational Technical College (HNMMC for short bellow) who took part in CUBA southwest district. It draws the conclusion about the physical response of basketball players of senior technical college for taking honey as supplement via comparing the index of aerobic and anaerobic capability, fitness, physiological and biochemical capability. The training of basketball players will benefit from the conclusion to be more scientific and reasonable.The members of Men's Basketball team of HNMMC have gathered to train from 29th Aug to 29th Sep 2009 for preparing for the CUBA hold in Hunan Normal University from 16th Nov to 22nd Nov 2009. They make the train session which mainly featured training of body's fitness, twice every day in a week except Sunday. The reaching period of this experiment lasting for one month consisted of 4 week-training-plans. The players were divided into two equivalent groups according to their height of body and position in court. One was treated as the experimental group with honey supplement. Another was treated as the control group without honey. The measurements of players' aerobic and anaerobic capability, fitness, function, physiological and biochemical index were taken and analyzed. The experiment compared the players'index in different phases and made the significant difference test which took P>0.05 as non-significant difference, P<0.05 as significant difference and P<0.01 as ultra- significant difference. The conclusion is drawn as follows.1. Honey can improve the players' aerobic and anaerobic capability, relief the tiredness and speed up the recovery of physical condition.2. Honey has no significant influence on the plays'absolute power, capability of jumping and flexibility, etc.3. Honey can't improve the players' vital capacity and blood pressure, while it can help stabilize or slow down players' basic heart rate, recover from tiredness. 4. Taking honey can increase the content of players'Hb and CK, reduce the increasing margin of BUN, improve the oxygen-carry system, protect the muscle fiber from damaging, ensure the supply of energy in intensive exercise and recovery of ATP after exercise, and balance the supply and transportation of energy in and after exercise. As a result, it can relief the tiredness and speed up the recovery of physical condition.
