With the reform and development of education national long-term plan for (2010-2020) of the promulgation and implementation, promoting students'comprehensive and personal development, becomes one of the important goals of the senior high school education. Optional class system has distinctive advantages in improving students'comprehensive qualities and figuring the students'personal characters.Shandong Zibo No.1 Middle School is one of the key schools in Shandong. It has experienced a lot of beneficial attempts in education reforms and innovations. Since 2008, the grade of senior two has practice the optional class system. This paper studies the optional class system in Shandong Zibo No 1. Middle School by using case study. It discusses the main mode, the problems and the solutions of the optional class system. It analyses the subjective and objective factors of restricting the optional class system in current senior high schools. It also puts forward relevant countermeasures. Through studying, I make the following conclusions: It is the inevitable choice for the senior high schools to cultivate students'comprehensive qualities. It has positive significance, but promoting optional class system is a long hard work to do. We must make it from many of the standard steps. I expect this study can speed the development of optional class system.This research is divided into five parts.The first part: the introduction. It focuses on the procedures of putting forward the questions, the relevant social background of optional class system, and the definition of related conceptions. It illustrates the theoretical and practical significance, research reviewed, and also related research methods.The second part: practice of optional class system in Senior Two in Zibo No.1 Middle School. It introduces the general situation in this grade, implementation steps and operational details.The third part: the analysis and research of optional class system in Grade Two of Zibo No. 1 Middle School. Through the questionnaire and interview records I get the phased implementation effect and put forward the countermeasures and provide direct research information.The fourth part: the analysis of the teaching practice in Grade Two in Zibo No. 1 Middle School. Based on these investigations and studies, I summarize the general problems of optional class system in current senior high schools. I also dialectically analyse the causes and effects of the problems.The fifth part: the teaching strategies of optional class system in senior high schools. In order to deal with the problems emerged in the process of optional class system, I put forward some corresponding solutions and I hope these can point out the direction of the optional class system in the future.
