This article calls the children of rural migrant workers who go to the city with their parents, or born in the city as children of migrant workers uniformly. Children of migrant workers in the critical period of growth and development need a stable environment and good guidance, but they follow their parents from their homes to a strange city, lacking material conditions makes them have difficult to obtain the resources necessary for growth; lacking of social care makes them can not get timely psychological guidance; institutional lag can not grant them the power form the system of protection. These gaps are likely to lead children of migrant workers to feel low level of self-acceptance,negative learning attitude,having difficult in joining the collective,poor parent-child relationship,the right to education be impaired and a series of developmental problems.In perspective of empowerment, these issues are power lost. In empowerment theory, power is that people have the ability and sense of control of resources. Power lost is that people have lost their power or never own such power. Empowerment is a process of increasing this power for the people. The children of migrant workers who have lost their power just are the objects of social work in the empowerment orientation. HA schools of migrant children in Shijingshan District of Beijing is specialized for children of migrant workers, the children in the school are such a group of power lost, the way of social workers interventing to the children is the "harmonious home " project.The "harmonious home" project intervene HA schools of migrant children in Shijingshan District of Beijing by taking advantage of professional social work theories and skills. According to the level and respect of empowerment theory, the "harmonious home" project carried out social work services by promoting self-pleasing,integrating school educational resources,improving family child relationship, to commit to develop more positive sense of self of migrant children,help them build a strong support network for growths improve their ability of getting resources and power from the environment. All in all, this is a process of exploring the potential energy and promoting the self-growth of migrant children.So far, the "harmonious home" project respected the need of school and students strictly, designed and carried out activities under the guidance of the empowerment theory. The project has been proven to achieved good results by assessment of all aspect. Of course, it is undeniable that there is inadequate, and it can not be developed further unless summarize and reflect continuously. So this study is intended to summarize the social work intervention process, discuss the applicability of empowerment theory and enhance the project on theory and practice.
