To train high school students'ability to appreciate ancient poems and to make them form healthy and happy feelings and striving attitude towards life are important parts in Chinese teaching of high schools. To enable students to learn to appreciate the artistic and emotional beauty of Chinese classical poems can help them to be nurtured by beauty and improve their literary and cultural qualities. Therefore, in teaching ancient poems, to grasp the poets'emotions is vital. It has important and practical significance for improving students'quality and accomplishment.In my paper, under the premise of the characteristics of ancient poetry and the needs of teaching I make an inquiry into emotional teaching of ancient poems by content analysis, survey and comparison. I attempt to look closely at the emotional teaching that is relatively weak in ancient poems from the theoretical angle in poetic aesthetics, Chinese pedagogy and Chinese educational psychology. Also I make an attempt to explore effective forms and various methods of emotional teaching in ancient poems in practice. Meanwhile, I expect to lead students step by step into the art world of classical poetry and the inner, sentimental world of the poets.
