Research On The Construction Of Personal Learning Environment Based On Chrome Open Platform

With the widespread application of the information technology in education science, e-learning has been becoming an auxiliary and even main teaching pattern. However, some models such as VLE (virtual Learning Environment) and LMS (Learning Managed System) are lack of flexibility and independence, which leads to the limitation of the learner’s initiative in practice. So the researchers proposed the PLE (Personal Learning Environment) model, which focused more on learners’ dominant position. Much relative research on PLE was concentrated on the theoretical model, and lack of representative application instances. Today, the concept of Web2.0becomes popular and is applied in common life and work life, which makes it to be easy to get and apply the social network services which based on the sharing system. In addition, the concept of Mashup that based on resource sharing and social network services are all the rage. Furthermore, with data interaction and semantic concept in Web3.0gradually recognized, open platform turns into a new internet service model. Then, it’s becoming a hot topic that using the open platform to build a personal learning environment. By analyzing the relevant theories, the characteristics of information environments and technology environments, the article put forward a new PLE model which is comprised of six factors:leaners, learning management system, tools, resource, interaction and evaluation. Moreover, to test and verify the new PLE model, an instance was built based on the open platform service of chrome.
