With the rapid development of information technology, open distance education is gaining more and more attention. The MOOC learning platform in open distance education plays a fundamental supporting role.2012 is the year of "MOOC". The rapid development of MOOC gets most scholars’ support, but its high attrition rate also gets a lot of criticism. There are usually many problems of usability in the research and development of MOOC learning platform. Moreover, with the further development of MOOC learning platform, open learners’demand for platform is becoming higher and higher. Therefore, the systematic and comprehensive usability evaluation of MOOC learning platform in order to meet the demand of learners is important premise of achieving the construction and development of MOOC learning platform.In this context, this paper puts forward usability evaluation of MOOC learning platform from the angle of learning experience. With the support of the theory of usability, usability evaluation model is constructed. Then based on usability evaluation model the paper builds the usability evaluation index system of MOOC learning platform. This paper logically can be divided into the following three parts:First part:On the basis of exploring the necessity of usability evaluation of MOOC learning platform, the paper analyzes current related research status and usability theory of MOOC learning platform and summarizes the development trend of MOOC learning platform and usability evaluation theory in order to provide foundation for the construction of MOOC learning platform’s usability evaluation model;Second part:Based on literature research and characteristics of MOOC learning platform and according to the theory of usability evaluation, the paper put forwards MOOC learning platform’s usability evaluation model;Third part:Through the research of domestic and overseas learning platform evaluation index, the paper proposed MOOC learning platform usability evaluation index system guided by learning the experience using the method of cluster analysis and expert interview and made of specific interpretation. At last, weigh of specific indicators is analyzed in the form of questionnaire;Fourth part:At the beginning, the paper surveyed common usability needs of MOOC learning platform by interviewing and at the same time selected some MOOC learning platforms making evaluation according to the evaluation index system. Through the practice research and questionnaire survey, the use of platform is analyzed in detail. At last, on the basis of above research the paper eventually forms related suggestions of MOOC learning platform usability construction.The innovation of this study is to evaluate MOOC learning platform from the perspective of usability. The research has important practical significance to solve the current MOOC learning platform’s usability problems and provide guidance for the research development of MOOC learning platform’s usability evaluation.
