Research On The Present Situation And Development Countermeasures Of Basketball Referees In Shanghai

Modern basketball, as one of the individual sports that enjoys the mostpopulation in the world, has developed into an international sport with artistrycharacteristics. Especially after we entered the new century, by its distinctive gamerules and ways as well as the spirit of fighting, competition and combat, basketballhas fully showed the energy of human being and the improvement of the times. Withthe development of the basketball, its important part--the referee, are graduallybecome the focus and come into the sight of human beings. The increasingly fiercecompetitions ask for higher requirements of the referees’ comprehensive ability, thusthe referees are facing huge pressure.Recent years, the basketball referees team is going from strength to strength.Moreover, the times of all kinds of big games taking place in Shanghai are increasing,and the competition levels are improved, all of those have pushed the development ofbasketball in Shanghai. As a result, the construction of the referees’ team has becomean important task that we face. In order to give a complete, objective and exactreflection of the problems that exist in the referees team in Shanghai and seek itsdevelopment and reform measures, the thesis uses the methods of documentation,questionnaire, mathematical statistical method, constructive analysis and expertinterview method to explore and analyze the basic situation of the basketball refereesteam in Shanghai. The conclusions are as follows:First, the basketball referees team in Shanghai has a good history and plays animportant role in China’s basketball referees team; what’s more, it is still workingnow.Second, the basketball referees team in Shanghai has high qualifications, goodprofessional quality and some tactical competence. The referees that above thenational level have rich experience in the basketball match.Third, the assessing and management system of the basketball referees team inShanghai are excellent, however, the English assessing form is simple and lack ofusefulness and pertinence. Forth, the national grade and the above national grade referees in Shanghai arepresenting obvious fault trend and there is no group advantage in the basketballreferees whose age is appropriate for the work.Fifth, the development of the referees from different regions in Shanghai isunbalanced; the ratio of men to women is inharmonious, moreover, the English levelof the national grade and above national grade referees is low, thus they are notcompetent in international sports events.Sixth, there is less opportunity for the first grade or lower referees in Shanghai.Though the assessing system of the referees is excellent, the focus is on the form andthe management is not strict.In response to the above problems, the author puts forward some solutions:Firstly, the alternate pace of the old and new referees should be accelerated; weshould also pay more attention to the cultivation of the young referees and femalereferees so as to improve the whole construction of the referees’team.What’s more, in order to get a balanced development in different regions ofShanghai, we should also accelerate the construction of the referees’ team of theseregions, especially the suburbs and the remote districts.Last, we should strengthen the English and computer skill of the national gradeand the above national grade referees so that their comprehensive competence can beimproved.
