Since China has implemented the reform and opening-up policy, the prosperityof economy of China surprised and impressed the other part of the world, meanwhile,being connected with the whole world more closely via joining in WTO, Chinese, asthe official language of China, is making itself heard more often and enjoying anincreasing number of followers. As a result of a close geographic distance andfriendly relationship between two countries, among these Chinese learners, Koreanstudents studying in China have seen a rapid increasing. And the rising concern onthe biased errors on pronunciation and intonation of Korean students in Chinabrought more and more studies and researches of many scholars. However, theseacademic works, due to the geographic and physical issues, focused their attentionmainly on Korean students in China but few on the children in elementary school inKorean. Fortunately, the writer gained one-year experience of teaching Chinese inShinwol Elementary School as a volunteer of CPIK during2012and2013. The writerrealized that it is very hard to open Chinese lesson for novice level students, while itis normal for them to suffer group error in pronunciation and intonation. At the sametime, the teaching approaches on pronunciation and intonation for children and adultsare different; therefore, proper approaches based on consideration of mental andphysical features of children should be employed and examined carefully. Hence, thispaper, analyzing errors of children’s pronunciation and intonation then offering somestrategies, may provide some helps for teacher coming to Korean to teach Chinese inrecent future.
