Research On The Demand And Countermeasure Of Sports Facilities Of Primary And Middle School Students In Shandong Province

The stage of primary and middle school is a key period for the physical and mentaldevelopment of students. The health of the students in this stage is not only related to their owngrowth and millions of families’ happiness, but also related to the future and hope of the Chinesenation. At present, the primary and middle schools’ sports work, however, still exists a large gapbetween the goal of the construction of sports power and China’s economic and socialdevelopment requirements. At the same time, the sports work of primary and middle school isclosely related to the students’ physical fitness. There are several factors that lead to the physicaldecline of the students. On the one hand, some students don’t like taking part in activities, whichis the subjective factor. The conditions of the sports activities, on the other hand, failed to meetthe diverse needs of the students. It is because of this that makes some students passively gaveup sports activities, which is also the main factors of the decline of the students’ physical health.Therefore, if we want to improve the physical fitness of the students, to make them activelyparticipate in the sports activities and master basic sports skills, it is necessary to give thestudents sufficient sports venues to meet the needs of students and form the habit of doingexercise. Consequently, making a research of the students’ demand for sports venues to meet theneeds of students in sports venues will become a very meaningful research topic.This paper employs the literature review method, mathematical statistics method,questionnaire investigation, expert interview and logical analysis methods. The researcherinvestigates the primary and secondary schools of17cities in Shandong Province. The researchresults are as follows:1. The indoor stadiums in primary and middle schools in Shandong Province are less in quantity,with simple sports activity room and less large comprehensive indoor stadiums. A number ofschools can not meet the requirements of The Basic Schooling Regulations of General Primaryand Secondary Schools in Shandong (Trial). The shortage of the stadiums directly influencesstudents’ demand for the coverage, type, open rate, utilization rate of the stadiums.2. The basic outdoor stadiums can reach the standard of The Catalog of the School SportsEquipment and Facilities. As far as the stadiums’ quantity is concerned, the urban schools arebetter than the rural schools. The normalized schools are better than the ordinary schools.3. The students’ basic requirements of the stadium can be satisfied in size and number, but thedemand for stadium type, open and utilization rate is far from being satisfactory.4. The primary and middle school students in Shandong Province are not satisfied with sportsvenues. The indoor stadiums can not meet the demand of the students. On the contrary, theoutdoor area is much better than the indoor venues. 5. The subjective factors that influence the demand satisfaction of the students are the attentionof the government, schools and other relevant departments of the society. In the meantime, theobjective factors are due to the shortage of sports venues, the unitary facilities, the unscientificdesign and the uneven distribution, etc.6. This research suggests that the Government should increase the funding for primary andsecondary school venues and create condition to increase the number of sports venues throughadministrative means; the government should also establish and improve the laws andregulations about sports, which can form the legal protection of stadium construction. Theschools should stress great importance to sports stadiums; under the students’physical condition,distribute and design the stadiums reasonably; through extending the open time, improve theutilization of the stadiums; strengthen advocation of the public to pay more attention toconstruction of the stadiums and collect more funds to build stadiums. The support of thegovernment and the attention of schools will supply a theoretical and methodological support forthe need satisfaction of schools in Shandong Province.
