With the development of the times and the China’s being in transition, people may have different occupations, but the common problem they are facing is pressure which rings true in terms of high school class teachers who are in the front line of education. Long working hours, pressure resulting from the college entrance examination, high social expectations as well as difficulty in communicating with students result in tense pressure for high school class teachers. What is worse is that this kind of pressure intensity is rising trend. In coping with this situation, this study, based on a certain high school in Nanjing, applies on-the-spot visit, referring to materials related, handing out questionnaires, and personal experiences to better understand how deeply high school class teachers are suffering from pressure and why they have no choice to become the class teacher. According to this, I managed to analyze the causes of high school teachers’pressure as the followings:Firstly, it will take the class teacher too much time to finish so much work; Secondly, the students and their parents demand a lot; Thirdly, they have low salaries; Fourthly, they have difficulty when it comes to realizing their dream; Fifthly, they feel constraint in the public; Last, the policies relevant are not all appropriate. What’s more, I tried to reveal the influences that high school teacher occupation pressure exert on the education and teaching behavior. Based upon what I have gained, I put forward the following six tactics to handle with the increasing pressure that high school teachers are facing: to strengthen professional training and their skills and confidence in fulfilling the educational tasks; to build up a sound performance evaluation system and reduce the academic pressure of high school teachers; to improve the welfare and try to diminish teachers’worries about their material life; to improve school management system, make public opinions more reasonable, and create a relatively stable policy environment; to let class teachers themself transfer the stress and develop individual hobbies; to reform the present system of class teacher.
