In recent years,China's higher education has come into the new stage of development from scale to quality.The reform and change of colleges and universities themselves and the important role of university teachers as the pioneers of reform make the group of university teachers face great professional pressure.Appropriate occupational stress can help teachers to make progress in teaching and scientific research.When the occupational stress is too high,it will have a negative effect on the group of university teachers.Therefore,the study on the occupational stress of college teachers is of great importance not only to the teachers,but also to the development and construction of higher education in China.The author chooses the teacher group of X University as a case study.On the basis of literature analysis on occupational stress,this paper investigates the occupational stress of X university teachers through questionnaires.According to the conclusions drawn,it analyses the current situation of occupational stress of X University teachers,and through in-depth interviews to understand the causes of occupational stress of X University teachers,and then puts forward how to deal with the occupational stress of X University teachers.Relevant strategies to adjust occupational stress.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part is to study the concept of stress and related theories.Through the research and analysis of the related concepts of pressure and three kinds of pressure theories,this paper lays a theoretical foundation for the research.The second part is the investigation and analysis of the occupational stress of teachers in X University.Through questionnaires and other ways to investigate the occupational stress of this group of teachers,generally speaking,The occupational stress of X university teachers is relatively high.Then,according to different gender,age,degree,specialty title and teaching age,the occupational stress of male teachers is higher than that of female teachers.Younger teacher's occupational stress is higher than middle-aged and old teachers.Bachelor's degree teachers bear the highest occupational stress.Liberal arts teachers bear the highest occupational stress than science and engineering teachers.Teachers with professional titles below lecturers and lecturers have the highest occupational stress.The longer in the teaching age,the higher the occupational stress of teachers.And occupational stress has had an influence on teacher's physiological and psychological aspects.The third part studies and analyses the causes of occupational stress through in-depth interviews with X University teachers.The causes can be summarized into three aspects: social reasons,school reasons and personal reasons.Social reasons include high social expectations,the impact of educational reform and fierce competition among teachers in Colleges and universities;school reasons include heavy scientific research tasks,heavy teaching tasks,lack of flexibility in performance appraisal mechanism,difficulty in evaluating professional titles,and problems in management system;personal reasons include highself-expectations,poor stress awareness,complex family affairs,difficult interpersonal relationships,etc.The economic burden is heavy.In the fourth part,according to the situation of X University teachers,from the social,school and personal perspectives,the author puts forward the adjustment strategies for the professional pressure of University teachers,which include improving the social recognition of teachers,putting forward reasonable expectations and requirements for teachers,etc.From the school perspective,it includes adopting the people-oriented teacher management system and establishing systematic teachers.Evaluating system and so on;personal point of view includes taking an active attitude to face professional pressure and improving personal professional level.
