The progress of science and technology cannot do without the talent, talent training also cannot do without education. Chemistry, as an important subject in elementary education, teachers who want to cultivate talents to meet the requirements of the times, the professionalism of course should be different from the past, teachers’professional development has gradually become the focus of attention of the vast majority of educational workers. At the same time, in the Full-time compulsory education chemistry course standard issued by the Ministry of education (revised version) and the high school chemistry course criterion (experimental version), that involve evaluation of educational philosophy and teaching methods, means, modes of study, must put forward higher requirements for high school chemistry teachers, research and professional development of high school chemistry teacher status issues is particularly important.In this thesis, a lot of reading on the basis of information, expertise, professional competence and professional aesthetic dimensions through the literature and survey method for high schools in parts of Fujian, Yangzhou, Taizhou and chemical investigation of teachers’ professional development. Results show that:(1) the overall level of professional development for high school chemistry teachers are average, each dimension unbalanced level of development.(2) in high school chemistry teachers’profession sensibility in the level of professional development (including concept and professional education pursued two) at the lowest level.(3) level in high school chemistry teachers’professional development, professional skills dimension of teaching ability, while relatively weak research capacity.(4) in a high school chemistry teacher in chemistry expertise, education and Humanities knowledge is relatively weak. Based on the results of the investigation, analyzed parts of Fujian province, Yangzhou, Taizhou and status issues for high school chemistry teachers’professional development, and targeted to put forward effective proposals on how to improve teachers’professional development: strengthening self-improvement, basing on school-based teaching research and building research platform, improving the assessment mechanism to promote the professional development of senior middle school chemistry teachers.I hope that through this research can help sort out teachers’quality structure of chemistry teachers, according to teachers actual knowledge of their professional development needs, and prompting these teachers to raise the awareness of their own professional development, develop effective professional development plan to improve and promote high school chemistry teachers’ and the whole system of teachers’professional development.
