The course of the junior middle school "Comprehensive and Practice" is the fruit of revising "Project-based mathematic learning" by the "standards of the full-time compulsory mathematics education (2011edition)". It is a required course and has the equal status with the "Number and Algebra","Space and Shape","Statistics and Probability".The new standards of the curriculum put forward some new requirements for the implementation of the "Comprehensive and Practice" course. What is the current situation of the implementation of this course? I chosen some junior middle schools in Jiangsu Province to carry out the investigation. According to the questionnaire surveys to some teachers and students, and interviews with some teachers, the following conclusions could be arrived after analysis:1. Conclusions about teachers’ understanding:Most teachers believe that it is necessary to arrange the mathematics curriculum of comprehensive and practice in junior middle schools, but most of them do not have a further insight of the course, especially rural junior middle school teachers. Only a few teachers think that the operability of the mathematical "Comprehensive and Practice" course is higher than "Project-based mathematic learning" in the teachers who knows "Project-based learning". So the effect of curriculum reform is not prominent. The more operable of activities case in "mathematical comprehensive and practical activities" considered by teachers, the more probability of the course be carried out. The operability is one of the reasons that affect the implementation of the curriculum2. Conclusions about students’ understanding:Students’ acceptance of the course has a higher degree than teachers. All the students who didn’t participate in the course want to carry out the course.92.9%of the students who participated in the course like the course, and they have expressed positive changes in learning, for example the interest in learning mathematics, confidence and ability to solve problems in mathematics has been enhanced. Therefore Ⅰ believe that it is necessary to set the curriculum of comprehensive and practice.3. Conclusions about teachers’ implementation:Only34.7%of the math teachers implemented the mathematical "Comprehensive and Practice" course, and the rural junior middle school teachers accounted for0, so the implementation of the curriculum is not optimistic especially rural junior middle schools. The main reasons that the teachers didn’t implement the curriculum are:the pressure of the senior middle school entrance examination and the barely relevant content in the entrance examination; the school measures are not good enough and there is no series of evaluation measures about the implementation of this curriculum, also the corresponding facilities are not complete yet; The teachers do not know how to effectively implement because of the activities are difficult to operate. The teacher’s teaching behavior is mainly in the following points:the lack of interesting topics, curriculum enactment orientation and students’active exploration; most of the education form are group cooperative work which the students love; the success rate of teaching activities is not high and the teaching evaluation is at random. The main difficulties in the implementation process are:firstly, the teachers’time and energy is not enough, so they couldn’t spend more attention on curriculum design; secondly, the school curriculum resources are shortage, and so are the school facilities and good examples of activities.4. Conclusions about students’studying:The student’s study enthusiasm is high. They fully prepared before class and they actively participated in class discussions. But they couldn’t well complete the task. They should improve the ability to cooperate with others.Based on these findings, it is recommended that the evaluation system of senior middle school entrance examination and the design of textbooks should be improved; the schools should increase support; the training to teachers should be reinforced;...
