Wu Yuzhang (1878-1966) was an Chinese near modern history outstandingproletarian revolutionist, educator, the pioneer of new Chinese higher education,carried the odour of “the jade article”. His thought education ethics was extensive andprofound, which had a far-reaching impact on Chinese education in the20th century,and had a motivational role in transition of Chinese traditional educational ethics fromneoteric to modern.Wu Yuzhang’s thought of educational ethics was based upon the developmenttrend of Chinese revolution, adhered to the guidance of Marxist historical materialismand had a dialectical, deep and theoretical analysis and valuable summary of theethical issues faced with educational activities and cause, which embodied aninnovative spirit in Chinese revolutionary morality and culture, and initially set up athought system of educational ethics on the national and international basis.WuYuzhang’s thought of educational ethics was not only affected by Chinese traditionalculture, but also influenced by the western modern thoughts. on the basis,his thoughtswas a creative interpretation of the Chinese education and people’s democratic culture,formed into a relatively systematic thought system of educational ethics, greatlyimproved the Marxist Educational Ethics in China.Wu Yuzhang’s thought of educational ethics is a concentrated expression of histheory wisdom in educational thoughts and behavior, and its connotation ofeducational thought is very rich and profound, which contains deep ethical traits, andeducation in ethics, such as proletarian educational aim, moral education first, take thestudent as the value orientation; Moral spirit of promoting fairness, honesty andinnovation, and emphasizing that educators should develop their own moral quality ofloyalty in education, keep pace with the times, work hard and perseveringly faculty.These contents are inter-related and interact with each other, show the unique charmof Wu Yuzhang’s thought of educational ethics, and mining deeply these preciousethical spirit and philosophy of Wu Yuzhang’s thought of educational ethics, having important theory significance of further expending Wu Yuzhang’s thought ofeducational ethics, and having important practical significance of enriching Chinesesocialist educational practice, cultivating and practicing socialist nucleus value ofsocialism and strengthening the socialist ideological and ethical construction.
