Attaching great importance to the students’ ability training and improving the scientific literacy is the main goal of elementary education reform in our country. At the same time, it is also the core of quality education thoughts. It has been more than ten years for the implementation of new curriculum reform in our country. It should be tested wherever the teaching is consistent with the request of curriculum standard under the background of new curriculum reform and wherever it is helpful to the student ability raising. The college entrance examination tends to reflect the requirements of the current education system which is used as the main basis of college admission selection. Because it often presents some regularity and characteristics in the investigation contents, the test is usually used as a text for education research.This paper is studied on the basis of SOLO classification theory of Biggs. According to the requirements of the exam outline, the author classified the inspection requirements of chemistry subject ability in order to build a evaluation standard of chemistry exam in college entrance examination based on solo level. The author thinks that the chemistry subject ability in college entrance examination should include three aspects. Such as:the ability to accept and absorb and integrate the chemical information, the ability to analyze and solve chemical problems, the ability for chemical experiment and exploring. Then these abilities are divided into four levels which are named Uni-structural level, Multi-structural level, Relational level and Extended Abstract level.They are simplified by U、R and E respectively in the study. And then we use it to analyze the chemistry tests in college entrance examination of Ningxia province (2007-2013). In order to get the characteristics of knowledge investigating and abilities in different years, the study stars from three angles:the distribution of knowledge point, subject abilities, and SOLO thinking levels. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) The basic knowledge and basic skills occupy the important position in knowledge investigating of the chemistry tests in college entrance examination of Ningxia province under the background of new curriculum reform. It requests that teachers should attach more importance to the teaching material and strengthen the training on the basic knowledge and basic skills for the students (2) It focuses on analyzing and solving chemical problems which takes the place of the ability dealing with the chemical information in the Investigation of the chemistry subject abilities. At the same time the inspection on Multi-structural level and Relational level have the priority in the solo levels. It makes demands on the teacher to improve the level of the students’ abstract thought.
