With the development of knowledge economy, the individual ability of learningis becoming more and more important. As for students, the right way of learning canimprove the efficiency. As for public citizens, the right way of learning is the symbolof good adaptation to society. One object of the new curriculum reform of basiceducation is to encourage students to change their way of learning, so that they canresponse to the challenge of new era. As a teacher, passing on knowledge on books isnot the only duty. what is more important is to teach students how to make the bestuse of time and study effectively. This is just what I will explore in this paper.Under the guidance of new curriculum idea and new theory of learning method, questionnaires and teaching experiments were exploited to study the teaching model“self-learning—cooperation—exploration” by investigating the students in the sameschool of the author. The research results show that adopting the new teaching model to guide thestudents to learn, can not only arouse the students’ interest in learning chemistry, broaden the students’ knowledge, enhance the ability of cooperation and exchangeamong students, but also establish a harmonious, democratic and equal relationshipbetween teachers and students. The chemistry scores and the learning capability&adaptability of the studentsare taken as the evaluation indicators of this research. It can not only test thefeasibility of the solution, but also provide the first-hand information to promote thespread of the new curriculum reform of basic education in my school.
