With the rapid development of international education in China, more and moreVietnamese students choose to study in China, they has become the biggest groupsof international students who are studying in China. Therefore, more and moreattention has been paid on their study adaptation and life adaptation in China.Yunnan, as one of the provinces links with Vietnam by rivers and mountains inChina, it attracted a large number of Vietnamese students to study in Yunnan by itsunique regional advantages, and Vietnamese students have become one of the maingroups of international students who are studying in Yunnan. Yunnan as abridgehead province of China opening up to southwest and neighboring countries,enrolling more and more Vietnamese students to study in Yunnan will be one of themain issues in Yunnan universities’ international education. In order to make goodpreparations for Vietnamese students’ education and management under newsituation, it is necessary for us to investigate their cross-cultural adaptation inYunnan, helping them understand their behaviors and emotional tendency, adjustingtheir study and life in different cultural environment. The paper focuses on theVietnamese students in the universities of Kunming, the capital city of Yunnanprovince, with the aim of investigating their cross-cultural adaptation in the newcultural environment from language adaptation, environmental adaptation, daily lifeadaptation, interpersonal adaptation and study adaptation. The results of theinvestigation can improve the complete understanding, effective management andreference to Vietnamese students’ education and management for relativedepartments.
