Nowdays, with more and more attention is paid to teachers’ education, an effective cohesion between pre-service teachers’ education and in-service teachers’ education has become the key to improve teachers’ quality. Whether new teachers can gain standardized and effective career training or not, not only related to their personal career development, but also decides China’s future teachers’ quality level and the balanced development of Elementary Education. At present, China’s traditional new teachers’ training lack of practice, not standardized or comprehensive.Besides, different teachers’ educational resources have caused irregular training. All these are hindering the professional development of new teachers to a certain extent.The exploration and innovation on new teachers’ induction training mode in Shanghai just try to solve the problems of traditional new teachers’ training. In order to enhance new teachers’ quality and ability of primary, middle schools(kindergarten) entirety, Shanghai started to research and pilot new teachers’ training system in 2009, then began a comprehensive trial based on summing up the experience in 2012. Standardization and practice are basic characteristic of this system. New teachers who come from primary and secondary schools can gain immersion training in a certain place at a certain time during their first year’s occupation career. The purpose is to let new teachers get standardized and perfect training in excellent teams and schools.Based on Shanghai’s cultivation on new teachers’ training and the professional development mainly comes from educational practice, this paper treats immersion training as the research subject, tries to explore its theoretical basis,operation mechanism and the effects on new teachers’ professional growth. Besides,according to the comprehensive analysis on the results of questionnaire surveys and cases, immersion training has some positive effects on new teachers’ professional growth: has expanded their professional knowledge, has updated their professional skills, has promoted their development attitude. At the same time, immersion training has added large work and training pressure to new teachers, which may leads to new teachers’ confusion and burnout. Thus how to handle this contradiction properly, reduce their burden and enhance their career happiness are worth thinking deeply. Furthermore, it’s the key to improvethe immersion training.
