After the second period curriculum reform, the high school politics textbooks abandoned the original ‘subject-core’ theory, turning to Dewey’s ‘children-core’ theory as its theoretical basis, which is more appropriate for the intention to promote quality education. Inevitably, the theoretical system has been helplessly weakened. Both teachers and students reflect that it is difficult to teach and learn the knowledge of the high school ’political life’, because it involves plenty of complicated knowledge. Mind map as a visual thinking tool can make people’s mind no longer confine to tidy, complicated text and show the logical relationship of the knowledge points. Meanwhile, students can also foster their divergent thinking ability and enhance learning interest, helping them optimizing learning methods.The essay can be divided into five parts. Through the first chapter, the reader can get a general idea of some related concepts and research situation. The second chapter describes the meaning of using mind map in high school ’political life’ teaching. The third chapter discusses the steps of drawing the mind map during the course of high school ’political life’ teaching. The fourth chapter describes the application of mind map in high school ’political life’ teaching. The last chapter give some suggestions during the course of its use, hoping this essay could provide a positive reference for high school ‘political life’ teaching.
