Nowadays, with the rapid development of information technology, people increasingly focus on mathematical modeling of classroom teaching. Under the drive of new curriculum reform, gradually from the traditional focus on basic knowledge teaching to pay attention to the application of teaching transformation. At the same time, whether to increase in people of middle school mathematics teaching mathematical modeling teaching also have their own claims. Students’ ability of applied mathematics and consciousness, knowledge of mathematics, and how to effectively evaluate the students’ ability of mathematical modeling, etc., have produced a series of problems, this article is based on this study.This article is on predecessors has been based on the division of mathematical modeling ability level, after the reference related literature at home and abroad, finally determine the research object, namely how to effectively make evaluation to the students’ability of mathematical modeling. This paper is divided into three parts:the first part is a detailed introduction of the study which predecessors have made, and gives the related knowledge of mathematical modeling theory, including mathematical modeling and mathematical modeling ability, mathematical modeling concept of the evaluation system, as the theoretical support of the paper. Using principal component analysis (PCA) in the second part, further established the evaluation system of mathematical modeling, through questionnaire survey and interview survey, mathematical modeling, evaluation system is applied to the concrete practice to test students for modeling the cognitive degree and the actual level of modeling, and to evaluate its ability of modeling. The third part is some thinking and suggestions on the high school mathematical modeling teaching, at the same time, it makes this paper a further outlook.The innovation of this article, combining with the existing of the division of mathematical modeling ability level, set up a relatively scientific and reasonable evaluation system, to better evaluate the students’ ability of mathematical modeling and investigation. To better develop middle school mathematical modeling teaching provides certain reference, for the smooth opening of the mathematical modeling course in high school provide a reliable guarantee, mobilizing the learning interest of students in mathematics, and to make preparation of the ability of all aspects.
