As the typical characteristics of the Chinese culture mechanism,filial piety is not only the important component part of Chinese traditional culture but also the basic foundation of personal cultivation. The period of social transformation is also crucial to test and reshape filial piety. Problem such as how to inherit and develop filial piety and make it keep pace with the times, becomes the major concern of education and society. The third plenary session of eighteenth conference held by Communist Party of China emphasized to improve and perfect Chinese traditional culture education. In response to the appeal of CPC central committee, the ministry of education issued The Guidelines To Perfect Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture Education. Meanwhile, series of activities as Pay Tribute to Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture carry out in the national colleges and universities. Both of them indicate that Chinese traditional culture is of great importance in achieving Chinese Dream.Schools are shouldering the important responsibility to inherit and develop Chinese excellent traditional culture so they should pay more attention to the education of filial piety, so as to explore filial piety education resources to achieve students’ full development and realize the innovation of the filial piety education. Therefore, it is necessary to build the platform of school education to carry out filial piety education. On the one hand, it meets the need of personal development. On the other hand, it also helps to adapt to the social transformation. So, how to keep the positive attributes while removing the negatives? How to embody the filial piety through life, living, existence? How can filial piety education integrate into school education? What measures should we take to develop the filial piety education? The above questions are the important issues of the study.This study tried to interpret the meaning of filial piety in the new era from the perspective of life, living and existence to provide new ideas for the development of filial piety education.Through investigation and analysis of cases, the study found that the current situation of filial piety education mainly covers the following aspects:(1) Traditional culture has been paid more attention to the school and filial piety education have developed in different levels in schools in different areas;(2) Filial piety education had carried out in various forms, but some schools malpractice and formalize it;(3) For a long time, filial piety education emphasis on "filial to parents ", it has not been fully applied to promote the development of the individual;(4) Some schools began to explore new development of filial piety education, try integrate a variety of moral merits with filial piety education to promote the students’ development.This study is based on the theoretical foundation and practical development of Chinese filial piety education. By combining filial piety education with life, living and existence, the author try to overcome the deficiencies of filial piety education and promote the filial piety education by setting its goal, selecting its contents and constructing its environment.
