This study applied action research to evaluate the feasibility and the teaching effectiveness of character education in a private kindergarten. The children of this action research are those who have some mild behavior problems. This study developed a moral learning program and culture interaction environment that aimed to cultivate children’s moral characters. This action research has proved that moral program could help young children learn moral concepts and moral reasoning. This study also proved that children’s characteristics could be improved into better respect, considerate, initiative and enthusiasms affections because of moral concepts and reasoning. The researcher and the coworker designed 16 units of the character education and some other teaching activities. The core character of this action study were "orderliness", "joy", "respect" and "responsibility".The researcher collected the experimental data through practical teaching observation records,reflection notes, interviews, and parents feed backs. The findings of this study indicated that the moral teaching are feasible and effective in the character education of young children. The researchers also discussed the difficulties of moral teaching. Based on the results of this study, the researcher provided some suggestions for the future study and to other educators who are interested in applying the character education of young children.
