In the arts education in our country, due to the long-term limitation of traditionalknowledge teaching model and thus it has long neglected the cultivation of comprehensiveability on students’ psychology, emotion, thinking, spirit and so on, which is speciallyoutstanding in junior high school, so there is an enormous developing space in basic arteducation in our country.The paper is going to deeply discuss all sorts of problems existing in the junior highschool art education in our country, acknowledge the achievements China has reached in thedevelopment of current art teaching, closely center on the topic of the cultivation of juniorhigh school students’ creative thinking, systematically analyze the importance of thecultivation of creative thinking in the stage of junior high school based on the related contentof the latest Arts Curriculum Standard (2011Edition). Besides, it bases on the author’steaching practice and proposes that how to cultivate students’ creative thinking, practicalability, and creative ability through art teaching in the stage of junior high school.The paper fully acknowledges the current educational system and teaching model in the artteaching of junior high school by the collection of literature review, periodical, networkinformation, works and so on. At the same time, the paper makes good use of the case studyin the Hefei NO.65Middle School and observes students’ creative ability and thinkingprocess, and demonstrates some humble opinions on how to cultivate students’ creativethinking in current art teaching.This paper concludes that in which aspects should improve our level of art teachingthrough the comparison of different teaching models and teaching approaches abroad and athome and accordingly betters students’ creative thinking. And systematically collecting andexpert teacher--Wang Bao’s (a teacher from expert teachers workshop in Chalu TownMiddle School, Luan, Anhui) views and opinions on the cultivation of students as referencesto the paper.
