Basketball is a very popular sport among a variety of sports. This made basketballbecame a very common sport in university. Due to its high competitive, and moreimportantly basketball can enhance people’s psychological health and developstudents’ social adaptability, students can have scientific and rational knowledge andtechnology about basketball under teachers’effective teaching method.Nowadays, there are many challenges in education in basketball in our university,such as the standard of playing basketball is quiet low. A lack of knowledge inbasketball has affected students’ motivation and passion towards basketball in a greatextent. Therefore, to improve correct skills in playing basketball and turn theory intopractice, characterised teaching method to initiate students’ engagement in learningshould be used. We need to bring in new ways of theory and scheme in education toachieve our teaching target. Promoting students to participate in and enjoy physicalexercise, and enhancing their basic knowledge and skills in sport are the responsibilityof physical education in university.Based on the current basketball development and the increasing improvement ofcurrent teaching methods, the development of college basketball activities needs todevelop along with the development of the time. It is not only letting students to studyscientific sport skills, but making students develop themselves during the study.College basket activates could also train the initiative of self-study, the abilities ofadjusting society and comprehensive socialism talents.According to literature review and practical investigation, it is found that most ofcurrent college PE teachers prefer to use traditional teaching methods. In the class,teachers focus on show their knowledge and students acquire them passively. Thus itleads students to lose their self-study ability, student could only obtain content ofteaching programme during the class, it could not get the aim of comprehendsdevelopment by physical education study. Due to enhance teachers’ self-training and introduce customized teaching to changethe traditional model of teaching, teachers could provide customized teaching modelto motivate students’ study interesting during basketball education. Students maychoose their study model by their self-quality. Customized teaching model could helpstudent to study actively and communicate with teacher for activating classroomatmosphere, thereby the sports level of student will be enhanced. There is a slightdifferent between traditional teaching method and customized teaching model, thus itis strong agreed that customized teaching model could adapt current college sportsenvironment better than other methods.
