Mathematics teachers learn about students’ learning situation mainly through class andafter-class. Classroom is the first scene where teachers pass on knowledge. If teachers have agood knowledge of students’ learning situation and discover the problems of students inlearning, they can not only help students solve the difficulties in time, but also improve theteaching efficiency. However, as a matter of fact, the effect is not much satisfying. As aconsequence, it is necessary to find out the reasons why the students can not learn well andput forward corresponding teaching suggestions, which will improve class efficiency andenable the teachers to learn about the students’ learning situation comprehensively andefficiently.Based on interviewing thirty mathematics teachers in senior high school of Tai An and ZiBo, the thesis concludes the mathematics teachers’ problems in learning about the students’learning situation: High school mathematics teachers in the classroom lack of emphasis onstudents’ learning situation; in terms of students’ learning content, high school mathematicsteachers pay too much attention to knowledge application, neglecting the non-knowledgefactors; High school mathematics teachers in the use of questions method, practice method,discussing method, classroom quiz method do not achieve the goal of understanding students’learning situation; etc.According to the research result, the second interview was conducted. The specificreasons why high school mathematics teachers don’t learn about the students’ learningsituation well are as the follows: high school mathematics teachers attach little importance tolearning about students’ learning situation, most of whom refer to learning in class as acomplement of after-class learning; there exist role differences between teachers and students,which means it is difficult for the teachers to keep the authority and fully learn about thestudents at the same time; the teachers don’t make full preparations before the class; due tocourse task tension, high school math teachers are not willing to take time to carefullyunderstand students’ learning situation; some students don’t want to be learned about; teacherscan only learn about part of students’ learning situation because of the limited time, thenumber of the students, as well as the seat setting, etc.Finally, the thesis comes up with some corresponding teaching suggestions: high schoolmath teachers are supposed to attach importance to learning about the students’ situationcomprehensively; making full preparations before class can lay solid foundation; Optimize the way to learn about students’ situation and improve teachers’ efficiency; the teachers areencouraged to create a good atmosphere in order to learn about the students; the teachersshould find out some creative ways and methods to know about the students.
