Task-based Language Teaching is a teaching method which focuses on students rather than teachers, aims at developing students’ability of using language by fulfilling communicative tasks. That is different from the traditional teaching method. In recent years, Task-based Language Teaching has been widely researched and used in the international Chinese language education. That is because the method is to improve learners’ Chinese listening skills, speaking skills, reading skills and writing skills through fulfilling communicative tasks. Actually, there are many research results, but most are on the theoretical study, lacking of applying research, especially in the Chinese listening and speaking class for primary stage learners.During author’s Chinese teaching period in Anuban ChiangRai School, I was responsibility for Chinese listening and speaking class. Also I applied Task-based Language Teaching method into my class and achieved some feedback. This paper depending on the practice of teaching in author’s Chinese class and elaborating the analysis of topic background information, points out that the importance of applying Task-based Language Teaching method in the Chinese listening and speaking class for primary stage of Thailand. Then based on the analysis of teaching objects, teaching objectives and teaching materials, combining with the method on both Task-based languages Teaching and listening and speaking class, designed teaching tasks. After the application in Thailand Chinese listening and speaking class, author displays a typical task-based listening and speaking case and makes teaching inflection. The last part summarizes the full paper and discusses the advantages and disadvantages on applying the method to the primary Chinese listening and speaking class. Author hopes that this paper can provide some valuable views to international Chinese teachers.
